RAO Ningning: Research on the Regulation for US’s Unilateral Economic Sanctions
In order to consolidate its world hegemony, US has utilized its power to bypass UN’s multilateral mechanism of UN and wield the big stick of economic sanctions around the world, becoming the country that has imposed the most economic sanctions on foreign countries since the 20th century. The unilateral economic sanctions imposed by US, whether comprehensive or targeted, carry significant human rights risks. It is of great significance to analyze the violation of human rights by US’s unilateral economic sanctions, examine the current regulation of international human rights law on unilateral economic sanctions, and explore how to regulate US’s unilateral economic sanctions under the framework of UN in the future with the aim for better global political and economic order and human rights governance.
